The evening job
One job lives in six places before it becomes a quote
A voice note on Monday. Two photos and a floor plan. A site visit you wrote on the back of a drawing. A tab copied from last year and renamed. A PDF exported at 22:00 and sent on WhatsApp. Each step is fine on its own. Together they mean the number you send is the last surviving record of the work, and six weeks later nobody — including you — can rebuild how it was made.

The part a cell cannot hold
Every quantity says where it came from
A spreadsheet cell holds a number. It does not hold the sentence your client typed, the measurement your foreman took on site, or which version of your rate card you priced against — unless you type all three into a column beside it, on every line, every time. In Briked that column is the line. When a client asks in week six why the tiling moved, the answer is on the row.

What your spreadsheet does that Briked does not
It opens with no signal, it costs nothing beyond what you already pay, and it will do anything you can write a formula for. Briked will not: the scope model is fixed to renovation and fit-out work, and you cannot invent a new shape in it on a Monday morning. So keep the spreadsheet. The smallest useful change is to run the next new enquiry through Briked and leave the live jobs where they are.

Common questions
Do I have to stop using WhatsApp?
No. Briked sends the scope link, the quote and the acceptance link into the WhatsApp thread you already use. Your client never installs an app and never makes an account.
Can I bring my existing Excel rates in?
Yes. Your rate card is imported from your own spreadsheet and stays private to your company — we never show one contractor’s rates to another. You can edit it in Briked, or re-import it when your supplier prices move.
What happens to the spreadsheets I already have?
Nothing. Old jobs stay where they are. The smallest way in is to run the next new enquiry through Briked and let the live jobs finish on the process they started on.
Does Briked do invoicing and accounting?
No. It stops at the accepted contract and the payment milestones that come out of it. Invoices, VAT returns and your books stay with your accountant or your accounting software.
Is my client charged anything?
No. Answering your scope link, reading your quote and accepting it are free for your client, always. Briked is billed to the contractor, on a plan you choose.
How does a client accept a quote?
They open the link, read the quote, tap accept and enter a 6-digit code sent to their phone. Who accepted, when, and which version they accepted are recorded on the job.
Do I need drawings?
No. The scope link starts from questions your client can answer without one. If you do have a drawing set, quantities taken from it land against the same scope instead of in a second file.
